local leaders across europe
Women@EIT is a community that brings together women students and alumni of the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) and promotes women leadership across all Knowledge and Innovation Communities: Climate-KIC, Digital, Food, Health, InnoEnergy, Manufacturing, Raw Materials and Urban Mobility.
Equity, diversity, and inclusivity are fair and just drivers of innovation and prosperity. We believe that society needs to advance in this space to ultimately close the gender leadership gap, the pay gap, and the investment gap, for the benefit of present societies and next generations.
close the leadership gap
In the EU, managers are twice more likely to be male, while in major publicly listed EU companies, only 6.3% of CEO positions are held by women.
close the pay gap
Women make on average about 80 cents for every euro that a man earns, and the higher the average salaries are, the lower the proportion of women.
close the investment gap
In Europe, tech companies with all-female founding teams receive 2% of the capital invested, compared to 93 % of all-male teams, yet they perform more than twice as good.
The EIT was set up to power Europe’s ability to innovate as we are concerned about our major societal challenge in areas such as health, climate change and sustainable energy. We will only achieve our mission if we mobilise women and men equally. The EIT Women network was created to support these efforts and to increase the participation of women in entrepreneurship activities across Europe. This will not only deliver more ideas and innovation but also reflects the EU’s core values, ensuring equality between women and men.
Bridge – The McKinsey Mentorship Program for Women@EIT
A joint initiative by Women@EIT and McKinsey Digital to recognize and support women with a background in technology. Along a six-month journey, starting in January 2021, McKinsey consultants will mentor a group of women afiliated to the EIT and share advice regarding their academic or professional advancement. The women that join the program will have the chance to learn more about McKinsey Digital and their work at the crossroads of business and technology. Moreover, they will hear from McKinsey consultants about how they foster a diverse and inclusive workplace and how they help their people thrive.
Become a member and subscribe to our Newsletter. We have so many exciting things going on, be the first to find out!
I am finally part of a community of driven women who are passionate and committed to make the EIT thrive and to share their love for science and STEM. I felt empowered, part of a community, and I can tackle going out there and organise events and create opportunities.
